How you can tell if your car is Euro 1 - Euro 4

Starting in 1992 the EU decided to introduce the emissions regulations beginning with Euro 1, since then there has been a series of Euro emission standards. The current standard is Euro 6, with cleaner engines being more economically advanced, this standard was introduced in September 2014, making the cleanest vehicles ever - mostly electric.

The difference between petrol and diesel cars, is that diesel's produces more particular matter. As a result, and further research, it was stated by the EU, that diesel vehicles have a considerable contribution to the quality of air in Europe. The less vehicles on the road causing these harmful emissions will simply reduce the damage to the environment and clean the air dramatically. Therefore, MINI have introduced the lower emissions scheme to focus on working with the government to get greener cars on the road.

Diesel cars made between 1992 and 2010, it may meet the Euro 1-4 standards and could be eligible for a trade-in bonus. As a guide see the table below to get a better understand of your car and which EU standard it fits.
