Introducing the Mercedes-Benz CLA

Design and Practicality
Dynamic looks help the Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé and Shooting Brake stand out for all the right reasons. They are based on the A-Class hatchback, so already have the DNA for style.
Compared to the A-Class, the CLA offers a sleeker silhouette in Coupé and Shooting Brake form. Both the Coupé and Shooting Brake flow beautifully towards the gently muscular rear, offering elegant looks. However, the Shooting Brake manages to use this feature to augment its functionality, providing more space for shopping or luggage.
With a newly shaped front apron, angular window designs, upgraded radiator grille with star pattern, and new rear diffuser, the CLA offers a sharp and sport, aerodynamic look. Both the LED rear lights and LED High Performance headlamps have also been modernised, giving the CLA a unique overall look.
Technology and Safety
Just like its A-Class sibling, the Mercedes-Benz CLA features an interior full of state-of-the-art technology. The most striking part is, of course, the large digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen; ensuring the CLA has one of the most attractive interiors available. The instrument cluster and central display can be completely customised thanks to three different modes to choose from, Navigation, Assistance, and Service, as well as seven colour options.
The CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake also feature the latest generation of MBUX with new display styles, Classic, Sporty, and Discreet. You can select the style that best suits you, and each of them display information slightly differently.
This is joined by turbine-style air conditioning vents and a beautifully crafted switchgear for a truly minimal and uncluttered dashboard. Unsurprisingly, the CLA joins other Mercedes-Benz models in offering fine levels of quality and refinement, with leather and Alcantara available in certain models, along with sports focused seating and touches to complement the CLA's dynamic nature.
In terms of practicality, boot size is very good for a Coupé, offering an impressive 460 litres of space. The Shooting Brake is enhanced even further with 505 litres available.
Engines and Performance
Petrol and diesel engines are available in the Mercedes-Benz CLA range. They comprise of three petrol engines, and one diesel option. Starting with the petrol versions, the CLA includes two 1.3-litre options, one with 134bhp and one with 161bhp. These are joined by a 2.0-litre with 221bhp.
The diesel option is available in a 2.0-litre, which produces 187bhp. The petrol engines are able to return up to 46mpg whilst the diesel is unsurprisingly more efficient, being able to return up to 57mpg.
On top of this, there is also a CLA Plug-in Hybrid Coupe and Shooting Brake, which combines the 1.3-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a total power output of 215bhp and returns up to an impressive 235mpg.
If you are looking for pure performance there are also the Mercedes-AMG CLA models that deliver up to an outstanding 415bhp.
