Introducing the Mercedes-AMG SL
With a long history spanning almost 70 years, the Mercedes-Benz SL is an automotive icon and the latest edition adds to this legacy. As a 2+2 roadster, the Mercedes-AMG SL offers high levels of luxury as well as the typical high-performance driving experience we have come to expect from the AMG range.
A fantastic alternative to the AMG C-Class cabriolet, you will find exquisite levels of refinement and a plethora of advanced technology. It has also been built and designed completely from scratch, meaning no parts are shared with older generations or other AMG models.
With an irresistible exterior design and a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine, the new Mercedes-AMG SL is sure to be the dream car for many.
Design and Practicality
Although it is built on a completely new platform, the new SL has not forgotten its ancestors, and this is clear to see in its contemporary take on a classic design.
The new SL combines the modern Mercedes-Benz design philosophy with typical AMG characteristics to create a striking design from all angles. Other elements such as the DIGITAL LIGHT LED headlights further the SL's appeal, giving it a powerful road presence.
Mercedes-AMG have ensured the car is ready for day-to-day life by establishing a cockpit that is more practical and spacious than previous generations. The soft top can be opened or closed in as little as 15 seconds, allowing you to react to changing weather conditions whilst driving at speeds of up to 37mph.

Technology and Safety
Mercedes-AMG have supplied the new SL with an almost-endless list of technology. The hyperanalogue cockpit comes with a fully digital instrument cluster, whilst the standard MBUX infotainment system works in conjunction with Mercedes me connect to provide an intuitive user experience.
Customisable features such as alloy wheels and exterior design packages allow you to personalise your new SL to ensure it is the perfect car for you. When linked to the Mercedes me portal, live traffic information is automatically fed to your vehicle, allowing it to automatically avoid traffic jams and reach your destination in the shortest time.
Similar to the C-Class and S-Class, the new SL uses numerous sensors, cameras, and radars to assist the driver in various ways. The assistance display offers an augmented reality experience and provides the driver with information regarding their surroundings via a 3-D generated scene to heighten occupant safety.
Engines and Performance
The new SL comes with a choice of engines and specifications. There is a SL 63 4MATIC+ and SL55 4MATIC+, along with an SL 43 too. The SL 63 4MATIC+ produces 577bhp via a 4.0-litre V8 that catapults the car from 0 to 62mph in 3.6 seconds, whilst the SL 55 4MATIC+ produces 469bhp using the same engine, which sees a 0 to 62mph time of 3.9 seconds. The SL 43 uses a 2.0-litre engine producing 376hp with a 0 to 62mph time of 4.9 seconds.
You can also opt for the impressive 4.0-litre 805bhp SL 63 S E Performance plug-in hybrid version, which is capable of 0 to 62mph in just 2.9 seconds.
The focus on aerodynamics is also apparent. The active air control system (AIRPANEL) comes in two pieces for the first time to reduce drag and offer maximum cooling levels when required. The rear spoiler is another active component, extending and retracting dependent upon the driving status.
But when you do not require the impressive performance of the new SL, it can return to an immensely comfortable and sophisticated state. With various driving modes to choose from, the car's feel and characteristics can be changed to suit your preferences.
