Stratstone supporting Rio Ferdinand Foundation Charity Gala

Stratstone were proud to support the Rio Ferdinand Foundation Gala Dinner at Wyndham Chelsea Harbour hotel in West London on Saturday 22nd March.
The Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s objective is to unlock the potential in young people by providing education, support and employment paths so they can become confident and skilled individuals with a bright future.

The project is run in Belfast, Manchester and London with five people from each region representing the foundation's work at the Gala dinner.

The charity event was held in partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust and Operation Wallacea. The event included special invited guests Michael Watson MBE, Ian Wright MBE, Olly Murs and Rio Ferdinand.
All guests were treated to a champagne reception followed by a three course dinner, live music and DJ set from Jazzie B. Stratstone supported the event by providing three Jaguar XJ cars to chauffer VIPs to the event.

The evening raised over £50,000 with a number of auction prizes including behind the scenes tour of Match of the Day, signed shirts from Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Robin van Persie, Victoria Beckham designed handbag, Stratstone Jaguar Racing Heart track day experience for 3 people hosted by a celebrity guest and much more.

During the evening Stratstone had a static display of a Jaguar F-TYPE with an opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win one for the weekend.

The event ended with Rio Ferdinand saying about his foundation “People look at me as an inspiration because I had the possibility to live the dream and I now use that to help other people. Me and my mates used to say ‘if we make it as professional footballers we would never leave Peckham (the local area)’, but as you get older you branch out and do different things, but I always had in my mind I would like to give back to the communities and I always stayed true to that, I don’t really shout about it, but I get a good satisfaction from it".
