Porsche Centre Wilmslow opened its doors last week for a Brand Experience Day, designed to connect clients and customers of Stratstone with the iconic German manufacturer.
Over 300 exclusive guests of Stratstone attended, exploring all the attractions on offer which took place both in and outside the Centre.
Attractions included scheduled test drives throughout the day to try out the latest Porsche models, whilst plenty of food was on offer in the form of gourmet burgers, a Panini bar and fresh fruit salad. Activities such as face painting were available for younger guests, whilst a six-lane scalextric set kept visitors of all ages entertained.
The event took an in-depth look at the excellent GTS range of models such as the Boxster, Cayman, Panamera and Cayenne GTS variants. The GTS badge (short for Gran Turismo Sport) represents a legendary line of Porsche models that are just as well suited to the racetrack as they are to the road, a trend started by the original Carrera GTS back in 1964.
One model that epitomises this ethos is the 911 GTS, a model that provides the performance of a racetrack with everyday sportiness - and was the ideal car for a test drive on the day.
A true Porsche Classic was also on display in the 924 Carrera GT. A lovingly restored model, this 924 Carrera was brought back to life by the team at Porsche Wilmslow and is now on display in the showroom. Every year, selected Porsche Centres take part in the Porsche Restoration Competition, choosing a classic model to bring back to its former glory.
A glimpse at classic cars in the Porsche range were joined by a look towards the future, with E-mobility models. The Panamera and Cayenne E-Hybrid models both utilise the same petrol/electric powertrain with a combined output of 410bhp and torque of 590Nm. The Cayenne can achieve a combined 83.2mpg, whilst the Panamera can achieve a startling 91.1, making it a great leasing option.
2015, whilst seeing the release of a host of new models, also celebrates 20 years of Porsche Tequipment. Tequipment - the name for technical equipment- has been a feature of the Porsche experience since 1995, allowing you to customise your Porsche with unique options including power upgrades and sports exhaust systems to alloy wheel care sets, designed to keep your Porsche alloy wheels gleaming.
Porsche Centre Bolton
The Porsche Brand Experience Day also visited Porsche Centre Bolton, showcasing several unique and rare Porsche models. Offering a great day out with a chance to test drive brilliant new entries in the Porsche range such as the Cayenne and Panamera.
Classic models featured aplenty, including a 964 Series Porsche 911 Carrera - the first ever Porsche model to be offered with automatic Tiptronic transmission and all-wheel drive. This was joined by a few classics currently undergoing restoration - including a Porsche 924 Carrera GT and the vintage Porsche 356. Guests of Stratstone also saw an extremely rare Porsche racing car, the Type 718, which guided Porsche to racing victories at Le Mans in the late 1950's and early 60's.
The biggest attraction was undoubtedly the Porsche 918 Spyder. A revolution in engineering, the 918 is one of the world's most powerful hybrid supercars with a combined output of 874bhp. With only 918 models in production, this was a rare chance to get up close and personal with one of the world's most advanced supercars.
Porsche Centre Nottingham
Porsche Centre Nottingham transformed their centre for the Brand Experience Day with a myriad of retro styling features, including posters from each of Porsche Le Mans successes. The excitement of Le Mans was brought in to the centre with a giant Scalextric set to bring out the racing driver in both children and adults alike.
Complimentary food was on offer from Barlow's butchers, whilst classic Porsche models included a mint condition Porsche 356 Speedster - the car which was the predecessor to the iconic 911. This was joined by a white 964 Series Porsche 911 Carrera.
Also on show was the Panamera S E-Hybrid complete with charging station. The S E-Hybrid makes a great choice as a company car thanks to emissions of just 71g/km of CO2 - from a car which produces over 400bhp.
