The #Hibernot Launch of the new Land Rover Discovery Sport has been taking place alongside Stratstone Land Rover Dealerships across the UK. Designed to reconnect us with a love for the outdoors and everything Discovery, we take a look at our exciting regional launch events.

Stratstone Land Rover Stourbridge, Newport, Cheltenham and Solihull

Land Rover Discovery Sport, Land Rover Eastnor, Land Rover off-road experience

Guests of Stratstone Land Rover Stourbridge, Newport, Cheltenham and Solihull were invited to Eastnor Castle for a day of true Land Rover exploration. Eastnor is the historical proving ground for all Land Rover vehicles, and is still used to this day for extensive vehicle research and development. The area is known for a variety of testing terrains, which lay in over 5000 acres of picturesque Herefordshire backdrop.

This location, steeped in Land Rover history, is an ideal setting for the Land Rover Experience which Stratstone guests were invited to come and explore. Guests were able to take the all-new Land Rover Discovery Sport down rocky descents, steep grassy inclines and across muddy stretches of water to test its impressive off-road capabilities for themselves. Discovery and Range Rover vehicles were available too - all of which provided great fun for both experienced off-road drivers and novices alike.

Activities such as archery on the terrace and clay pigeon shooting were big hits - and the event also offered a unique duck herding experience, great fun for all the family!

For younger family members, there was an adventure playground with Burma Bridge, a Treetop Walkway and Turret Slide adjacent to the Castle Courtyard to explore. They were also able to enjoy a driving experience all of their own, with the battery powered 'Little Off Roaders' course in the castle courtyard.

Guests were invited into Eastnor Castle for a gourmet winter BBQ lunch and there was plenty of opportunity to explore the grounds on foot too, with a Knights Maze, Lakeside Walk and The Eastnor Tree Trail all open to visitors - in addition to guided tours of Eastnor Castle throughout the day.

Land Rover Stoke and Bury

Guests of Stratstone Land Rover Bury and Stratstone Land Rover Stoke descended upon Peckforton Castle for a range of outdoor activities and driving experiences. Inside the iconic red walls of the Grade I listed building, guests were free to explore three different models of the all new and award winning Land Rover Discovery Sport, as well as take part in some falconry and observe several birds of prey.

There was also a feast befitting of the grand surroundings as well as face painting and chocolate pizza for the younger ones to enjoy.

Outdoor pursuits including laser clay pigeon shooting and archery were also available for families to try in the 4,000 beautiful acres of surrounding land and forest. As stunning as they are, some areas of the Peckforton estate are only accessible by 4 x 4 vehicles, and thanks to the Land Rover Cheshire off-road Experience guests were able to do just that.

Tackling deep waters, steep hills and steeper declines, guests pushed Land Rover models such as the Discovery and Defender to their limits alongside a qualified Land Rover Experience instructor, making for a great day out in the Peckforton Hills.

Land Rover Doncaster

Stratstone Land Rover Doncaster visited the Land Rover Experience in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Activities for the day off-road experience in well-travelled vehicles such as the original Land Rover Discovery, exploring the Coniston countryside the real way: through scenic landscapes and muddy bogs.

There were also outdoor activities in the Yorkshire air, including falconry and clay pigeon shooting. Afterwards, guests could retire to the cabin, which benefitted from a roaring log fire and plenty of food and drink to satisfy their appetite from the day's activities.

Land Rover Nottingham

Guests of Stratstone Land Rover Nottingham were treated to a journey down towards the quaint town of Market Harborough. Their Discovery Sport Hibernot Celebration event was situated in the grounds of the iconic Rockingham Castle, which itself is nearly 1000 years old and was built under the instruction of William the Conqueror.

Activities situated in the grounds were appropriate for the Historic backdrop - including falconry and archery. Juxtaposing the traditional theme was the new Land Rover Discovery Sport, which stood out emphatically in bright Firenze Red - as well as a unique driving experience with miniature Land Rover Defenders.

Land Rover Newcastle

Stratstone Land Rover Newcastle journeyed to Beamish, to explore the living, breathing open air museum situated in county Durham. Beamish museum replicates a northern town on the turn of the early 20th century, celebrating the hard workers, of which Land Rover and their vehicles go hand in hand with.

Guests were free to experience and explore the museum at their leisure, visiting real shops such as the Sun Inn pub and the Motor and Cycle works which features a 1907 Armstrong-Whitworth car. Also in attendance were three new Land Rover Discovery sport vehicles, including a Kaikoura Stone-coloured model in HSE Trim, showcasing models available across the range.

Land Rover Stockton

The Wynyard Hall Country House Hotel, Cleveland, served as a fantastic setting for the Stratstone Land Rover Stockton Hibernot Celebration of the Land Rover Discovery Sport. The traditional country house is surrounded by landscaped parkland, a far cry from the normal stomping ground of Land Rover.

It was, however, a great place to take part in some outdoor activities, including giant inflatable darts and clay pigeon shooting. The Land Rover Discovery Sport served as the ideal backdrop to the day's activities, perched atop the steps to the country house on a bright sunny day which reminded everyone what the great outdoors has to offer - a reminder to #Hibernot.

Land Rover Woodford

The Stratstone Land Rover Woodford event (pictured) was held at the scenic Blakes Golf Club in Epping. The setting served as a great environment for family clay pigeon shooting activities and other outdoor pursuits including archery. The Discovery Sport was also on show for exclusive guests of Stratstone Land Rover to explore.

Land Rover Aylesbury held their #Hibernot Celebration at the Oxford Gun Company in Jericho Farm. Attractions included fun face painting by professional artists for kids, and special live entertainment with music and fire dancing that enthralled all ages. There were a number of sculptures taking place including skilled wood carvers who created pieces from a solid block of wood on the day, and ice sculptures to admire.

After the day's activities, pulled pork, sausages and burgers were available from the professional barbecue, with a wide choice of hot drinks and mulled wine.

Land Rover Swansea and Land Rover Cardiff

The Stratstone Land Rover Swansea and Cardiff events were held at the picturesque Canada Lakes and Lodge near Cardiff. Celebrating the great outdoors, guests tested their marksmanship by taking part in games of archery, as well as clay pigeon shooting. Other attractions included face painting, and an off-road Land Rover driving experience allowing guests of Stratstone to test their driving skills.

After taking part in the activities guests could wind down next to the fire and enjoy the tranquil lakeside setting with a professional BBQ and a range of drinks, including mulled wine. The new Land Rover Discovery Sport also made an appearance, taking centre stage coloured in Indus Silver and SE Tech trim.
