Introducing the Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid
The first of Land Rover's Plug-In Hybrid vehicles; the Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid. The luxury SUV combines electric and petrol power resulting in sustainable performance.
Allowing drivers to not only tackle any terrain, on or off-road, the plug-in hybrid can also enter areas with restrictions for air quality, including most congestion charging zones.
The performance SUV is able to determine the most efficient use of fuel to suit the driving conditions. Therefore, it is able to travel through cities in electric-only mode and when more power is needed, the engine will engage and combine with the electric motor for a hybrid All-Wheel Drive experience.
Range and Performance
Delivering efficiency, capability and performance like never before, the plug-in hybrid Range Rover Sport has an electric-only range of up to 31 miles, 398bhp and 640Nm of torque.
Badged P400e, Land Rover's first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle provides sustainable performance by combining a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with an electric motor.
Drivers can choose between two driving modes; Parallel Hybrid mode, the default driving mode), or Electric Vehicle (EV) mode. The vehicle runs purely from the electric motor, using the energy stored in the battery, when in EV mode. Alternatively, in Parallel Hybrid mode, there is a combination of petrol and electric drive.
The Range Rover Sport P400e is powered by a 13.1kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in just 2.75 hours by rapid charging at home using a dedicated 32 amp wall box. Without this, you are still able to fully charge the battery in 7.5 hours using the 10 amp home charging cable that is supplied as standard.
You can also charge your vehicle away from home as there are thousands of public charging stations located across the UK. Most charging stations will require payment via a mobile app, membership or contactless card. However, there are some charge points that are free to use.
Access to the 7kW on-board charger is cleverly camouflaged at the front of the car, behind the Land Rover badge on the right-hand-side of the grille.
Test Drive the Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid
Whether you are roaming a city using the electric-only range or travelling further afield in Parallel Hybrid mode, the Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid is a luxury, performance SUV that will appeal to many drivers. Additionally, having the capability to off-road, tackle snow and wade through deep water; the vehicle becomes suitable for an even wider audience.
The Hybrid Electric Vehicle has the same captivating looks and impressive interior as the powerful diesel and potent petrol variants of the Range Rover Sport but provides greater efficiency and lower emissions.
