Introducing the Range Rover Velar Electric Hybrid
Enhancing desirability, sustainability and intelligence; the Range Rover Velar plug-in electric hybrid retains its modern and sophisticated design but with the addition of providing exceptional efficiency and a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
Sitting between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport in Land Rover's line-up, the mid-size luxury SUV is the perfect balance of design and technology.
Featuring an advanced new infotainment system and elegant new design features, the plug-in electric hybrid Range Rover Velar has been badged P400e.
Range and Performance
Combining a powerful 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with an electric motor, the P400e delivers a combined power output of 398bhp and 640Nm of torque. Despite being a mid-size luxury performance SUV, the Velar P400e can race from 0 to 62mph in around 5.1 seconds, a time which is competitive with sports cars.
Proving that luxury and performance can be sustainable and efficient, the Velar plug-in electric hybrid boasts fuel economy of up to 130.3mpg and CO2 emissions from just 49g/km. Zero tailpipe emission journeys can be accomplished for an impressive electric-only range of up to 33 miles when the vehicle is set to EV (Electric Vehicle) Mode, as the SUV runs purely from the electric motor, using energy stored in the battery.
HYBRID Mode is the default driving mode, seamlessly combining the electric motor and petrol engine. You can easily switch to SAVE Mode which prioritises the combustion engine as its main source of power, maintaining the battery State of Charge at the chosen level, or EV Mode.
Charging
Rapid charging of the 17.1kWh lithium-ion battery, from 0 to 80 percent, can be achieved in as little as 30 minutes using a 32kW DC public charge station. There are now thousands of public charging stations located around the UK; making charging your Range Rover Velar plug-in electric hybrid away from home much simpler.
The cost of charging at a public station varies, with some being free to use and some requiring payment via a mobile app, membership or contactless card.
Alternatively, using a 7kW domestic wallbox charges the battery from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. These can be installed at your home or workplace fairly easily in most cases.
You can also use the dedicated Land Rover Charging app, which can give you exclusive access to the useful features of Land Rover Charging to help you find the various stations across the UK.
Test drive the Range Rover Velar Electric Hybrid
Clean, elegant and distinctive; just like the petrol and diesel powered Range Rover Velar, the plug-in electric hybrid model is just as capable, featuring Land Rover's All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Offering a smooth and refined drive, the P400e also provides an even calmer experience inside thanks to the addition of Active Road Noise Cancellation, which constantly monitors vibrations from the road surface and calculates the opposite phase sound wave needed to remove the noise heard by everyone within the vehicle.
The plug-in electric hybrid avant-garde Range Rover is a delight to drive and the vehicle's aesthetics are equally as pleasing. If you would like to arrange a test drive, please contact your nearest Stratstone Land Rover retailer.
