Introducing the Land Rover Range Rover Plug-In Hybrid
Sustainable luxury with new levels of efficiency and capability, the Range Rover Plug-In Hybrid was a major step for the Range Rover following its evolution over 50 years.
Representing the pinnacle of luxury travel, the Range Rover is Land Rover's flagship SUV. Built on the traditions of the ultimate SUV, the PHEV model has enhanced refinement and comfort combined with remarkable performance and efficiency.
Available in both standard and long wheelbase body styles, the hybrid-electric SUV features Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 technology which has a unique calibration to intelligently and precisely distribute torque from the electric motor to all four wheels; providing greater control during low-speed off-road manoeuvres.
Range and Performance
Elevating the serene comfort of the ultimate, luxury SUV is a plug-in electric-petrol powertrain. Combining a powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with an electric motor, the total available power output is an astounding 398bhp. Reaching 60mph from zero in just 6.4 seconds.
Experience whisper-quiet refinement in EV (Electric Vehicle) Mode, with non-existent tailpipe emissions, for up to 31 miles. Access is also granted into areas with air quality restrictions, including most congestion charging zones such as London's ULEZ.
Parallel Hybrid mode is the default driving mode, combining petrol and electric drive. The driver can optimise battery charge or fuel economy by utilising one of two charge management functions:
- SAVE function - prevents the battery charge dropping below a pre-selected level
- Predictive Energy Optimisation (PEO) function - intelligently combining the electric motor and petrol engine to maximise fuel economy based on your destination entered in the navigation system
The access point for the charging cable is at the front of the vehicle, discretely camouflaged in the grille behind the Land Rover badge.
Rapid charging the 13.1kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery to full capacity can be achieved in as little as 2 hours 45 minutes at home using a dedicated 32 amp wall box. Alternatively, a full charge can be reached in 7 hours 30 minutes using the 10 amp home charging cable supplied as standard.
Reassurance is offered due to the eight-year, 100,000-mile, 70% state of health warranty covering Range Rover's battery.
