Introducing the Discovery
Ever since its introduction at the tail end of the 1980s, the Discovery has made a name for itself as a hard-working off-roader that does not compromise on excellent road manners.
Throughout its evolution, the Discovery has simply become a more attractive all-round package, which has reflected in its continued popularity. The latest version of the large seven-seat SUV has been enhanced with a sophisticated design, a contemporary interior and the latest generation of powerful and efficient engines.

Design and Practicality
There is nothing new about a large luxury SUV that offers seven seats. However, Land Rover have designed the Discovery to seat seven adults in complete comfort, which is a revelation.
Spaciousness has improved with the latest iteration of the Discovery model, there is plenty of legroom no matter where you sit. Comfort and support has been enhanced thanks to the seats featuring thicker, recontoured cushioning.
Electronic Air Suspension comes as standard across the range, which can lower the vehicle to make it easier for passengers to get in and out, while simultaneously lowering the boot's loading lip.
Speaking of which, each car comes with a power tailgate, and opens to reveal over 1,100 litres with the rear seats folded flat into the floor; providing a flat loading space.
ISOFIX anchor points feature on the second and third row of seats, as well as the front passenger seat.
Technology and Safety
Discovery is brimming with the latest driver assistance technologies and safety features.
Every car comes with Land Rover's faster, smarter and better connected New Pivi Pro infotainment system. The vibrant 11.4-inch HD touchscreen offers intuitive navigation and allows the driver to effortlessly adjust the multimedia settings, DAB radio, and vehicle set up. The standard sound system is very good, but gets upgraded further up the range courtesy of British audio specialists, Meridian™.
Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ make smartphone integration simple and are standard across the Discovery range. Connectivity is enhanced even further thanks to Amazon Alexa voice-control.
Other driver assistance technologies include 3D Surround Camera, Traffic Sign Recognition and Adaptive Speed Limiter, Cruise Control and Speed Limiter, Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist.
Engines and Performance
Some people say "good things come in threes", the Discovery's range of engines certainly do. Three new straight-six Ingenium engine, both petrol and diesel, are present in the Discovery range. Each of the new engines is accompanied by 48V mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) technology for improved efficiency, performance and smoothness.
245bhp or 296bhp are the power outputs for the diesel engine, whilst the punchy and powerful petrol engine delivers 355bhp
The intelligent MHEV system redeploys energy, which has been harvested and stored during slowing down and braking, to support the engine when accelerating. Unlike plug-in hybrid powertrains, the Discovery MHEV does not need plugging in to charge.
Fear not, if MHEV technology is not for you, there is a four-cylinder P300 Ingenium petrol engine delivering a power output of 296bhp.
