Engines and Performance
New Mercedes-Benz GLC engines come in hybrid only options, comprising a mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid.
There are a variety of mild hybrids to choose from, including both diesel and petrol powered options. Power output ranges from around 200bhp to 270bhp dependent upon specification, but each variant offers an experience to behold.
As for the full plug-in hybrid options, there are a variety of petrol and diesel powertrains to choose from. Each offers similar power outputs to the mild hybrid whilst getting an electric motor for the ability to drive using just electric power.
A fully-electric range of up to 80 miles is possible, dependent on specification chosen and conditions.
Charging
If you are to opt for the new GLC in plug-in hybrid form, you will find charging to be straightforward. Thanks to intelligent developments in the way operating temperatures are controlled, and more efficient energy recuperation, charging times are as short as they come.
Even when electric energy is completely depleted, your new GLC SUV can be charged to full in approximately 30 minutes when using a 60kW rapid charger. There are also wallbox solutions available, allowing you to recharge the car's battery from the comfort of your home.
