Stratstone Land Rover #Hibernot in 2016

#Hibernot is back, bigger than ever, for 2016. It's all about reconnecting with the great outdoors and embracing our British winter weather. Whether it's taking a hike, riding your bike, or going for a drive in your Land Rover - it's all better than staying indoors.

To show customers of Stratstone Land Rover the true meaning of Hibernot, we've organised several exclusive events throughout early 2016. We've scouted some of the best scenery the UK has to offer, from the Canada Lakes of Cardiff to the expansive Bawdon Lodge Farm in Loughborough. And now we're off to explore.

Land Rover Mayfair and Aylesbury

The Dairy, Waddesdon Manor, Saturday 27th February

Waddesdon Manor is a Grade I listed Victorian mansion, built in 1874 by Baron de Rothschild and set amidst stunning landscaped gardens. It was the perfect backdrop to one of our most expansive Hibernot events to date.

Guests were invited to 'The Dairy'; a secluded waterside location within the grounds that served as a peaceful retreat and the hub of all our activity. From the day's resident magician to the juggling circus performers, there was plenty to keep guests of Mayfair and Aylesbury entertained upon arrival.

A photography masterclass from Venture photography kept the adults busy, whilst kids enjoyed face painting and discovering the listed gardens with plenty to explore. Food was from no ordinary winter BBQ, with Waddesdon's chefs serving up King prawn and monkfish skewers, butterfly chicken and Aberdeen angus beef. Later on there was a fantastic fire-eating display to light up the winter sky, rounding off a thoroughly enjoyable day. Vehicles on offer from Mayfair and Ayelsbury included an all-black line up of the Range Rover Sport, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover.

Land Rover Woodford

Mulberry House, Ongar, Sunday 28th February

Land Rover Woodford 's Hibernot event took place at Mulberry house, a stunning stately home and gardens in Essex. The event brought a different element to all of our activities so far, with an outdoor ice skating rink allowing guests to make the most of the winter weather. Fake snow added to the magic of this winter wonderland!

The day's activities included face painting, a warming winter BBQ and live music from a local musician contributing to a lively atmosphere. A photography master class was held throughout the day so guests could create their own winter masterpiece.

Cars on display included the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the original Discovery.

Land Rover Cheltenham, Newport and Stourbridge

Land Rover Experience Centre, Eastnor Sunday 21st February

At a location that defines the brand, the Land Rover Experience Centre is based at Eastnor and is the ancestral home of Land Rover. Every Land Rover model has been tested here since 1962. Set in the stunning grounds of Ledbury, guests of Cheltenham, Newport and Stourbridge enjoyed a whole host of activities which made winter worth exploring.

Of course, visiting the Land Rover Experience Centre meant there was the chance to tackle some serious off-road driving. From steep inclines to muddy bogs and gravel, they put their skills to the test in a myriad of Land Rover vehicles, packed full of winter driving technologies for the ultimate off-road fun.

Other outdoor pursuits included clay pigeon shooting and archery, as well as gun dog displays and even ferret racing! After working up a sweat, guests relaxed in the tipi with our gourmet winter barbeque and warming refreshments to keep them fuelled.

Land Rover Doncaster

Castle Park, Doncaster Knights Saturday 13th February

Guests of Land Rover Doncaster were treated to some sporty entertainment with a spot of Rugby Union. Meeting at the Doncaster Rugby Football Club's Castle Park, they embraced the outdoors by watching their local team take on the Yorkshire Carnegie.

Not only did the Doncaster Knights win 34-28, but guests got a view of all the action from their private lounge and balcony. Enjoying the game with their complimentary bar and winter Barbeque, the treats on offer kept everyone warmed on a brisk winter's day.

Vehicles on display outside included the flagship Range Rover Sport SVR and the Land Rover Freelander.

Land Rover Stoke

Stoke on Trent RUFC, Stone Sunday 21st February

The weather was so extreme at Stoke RUFC that the scheduled rugby game was called off! But a waterlogged pitch didn't stop people coming out to experience #Hibernot in all its glory. Activities included face painting and enjoying the winter barbeque and freshly baked cakes.

No strangers to demanding terrain, the Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque still managed to make their way on to the pitch for a formidable display.

Land Rover Cardiff & Land Rover Swansea

HCE Adventure, Canada Lakes Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th February

Situated in the idyllic grounds of the Canada Lakes, the #Hibernot events for Swansea and Cardiff had a range of fantastic foodstuffs on offer. From building your own wood-fired pizza, to enjoying freshly grilled burgers and jacket potatoes from the winter Barbeque, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Of course, this being Hibernot we got everyone up and active too! Guests were able to hone their air rifle and archery skills with a bit of target practice, whilst more relaxed pursuits were to be found in some lakeside walks and photography masterclasses. There was a cosy log cabin to retire to with a drink at the end of a hard day's fun, whilst the kids tried their hands at roasting chestnuts and marshmallows on the open fire.

We brought along a few vehicles from the Land Rover range to both of our events, including the Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Range Rover! It was a fantastic weekend which we hope everyone enjoyed - and saw what Hibernot was all about.

Land Rover Newcastle and Land Rover Stockton

Beamish Museum, County Durham Saturday 6th February

Our Hibernot event at the Beamish Museum brought both the great outdoors and the past back to life! We gave guests Complimentary access to Beamish for the day, allowing them to explore one of the UK's most iconic museums. Experiencing a real northern town on the turn of the early 20th century, Beamish is a living, breathing open air museum.

As if that wasn't enough, we had our cosy tepee set up in the museum with fantastic views of the Durham Countryside. Inside, our winter BBQ kitchen was open all day serving traditional Cumberland sausage and the terrifically hearty winter warmer soup to keep everyone fuelled. The fire was on too, meaning guests were able to return after a day's exploring the museum and put their feet up (and possibly toast a few marshmallows too).

Land Rover vehicles on display included the all-new Land Rover Evoque and the formidable Range Rover Sport.
