Wilmslow Launch Event

Celebrating the launch of the all-new DBS Superleggera, Stratstone Aston Martin Wilmslow held an exclusive launch event at their Cheshire dealership on Water Lane on 7th September, allowing around 100 guests to get up close and personal with the breath-taking new model.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

This exclusive event gave a chance for those invited to get an exclusive first-look at this breath-taking flagship GT car from Aston Martin. The DBS name stays true to its meaning, by being the ultimate production Aston Martin.

Being an ultimate production offering from Aston Martin, the DBS Superleggera comes with a mesmerising 715bhp, produced from its 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbo engine. These performance figures ensure this Aston Martin is the ultimate expression of a flagship super-Grand Tourer. From a standing start the car can hit 62mph in just 3.4 seconds and will go on to reach a top speed of 211mph.

Presented in an incredible finish of Satin Xenon Grey, with 21” Forged ‘Y’ Spoke wheels, the DBS Superleggera looks every bit as serious as its performance figures suggest, but still captures a certain amount of grace in which every Aston Martin is famous for.

On the evening of the event, the flagship car was joined by a classic Aston Martin DBS V8 – the flagship Aston Martin from ’69 to ’72. Finished in Bahama Yellow, it looked almost identical to Sir Roger Moore’s example, in which he drove in the ‘70s TV series; The Persuaders, a nice connection considering he also played James Bond in the ‘70s and ‘80s too.

It was great to see this classic DBS presented next to the brand-new Aston Martin production flagship. Although over forty years separates the two cars, and technology has evolved dramatically, both cars have represented the flagship position, and have the same classic Aston Martin design principles encompassing incredible power, true beauty and soul.
