New Aston Martin DB11 Volante V8 Revealed

The DB11 is the most powerful Aston Martin DB model ever created. First launched with a V12 engine in 2016, the DB11 is now available with an equally impressive V8 engine. However, Aston Martin hasn't stopped there. Is it possible to make the DB11 even more beautiful?

The newly launched DB11 Volante aims to prove this may well be the case, with Aston Martin describing the new DB11 Volante as the 'most elegant convertible Aston Martin'.

Combine the name Volante with any Aston Martin from the mid-sixties onward and you'll get a convertible version that's equally if not more stunning that the coupe alternative. Fast forward to Autumn 2017 and the new DB11 Volante looks incredibly elegant.

By removing the fixed roof and using a convertible fabric one, the DB11 Volante looks graceful from every angle. The roof can be lowered in just 14 seconds, and can be put back in just 16 - at speeds of up to 31mph.

Aston Martin have given the convertible roof an 8-layer construction too, comprised of excellent acoustic and insulation materials - perfect for deleting the road noise associated with many convertibles.

Aston Martin have also spent considerable time making sure the roof can withstand the harshest weather conditions, impressively using techniques to simulate 10 years of weather in just a month, to ensure the fabric roof is worthy of being applied to this stunning convertible. You can also spec various colours for the roof too, including red, black silver or grey silver.

Other details on the new DB11 Volante include a new 20" forged wheel design and the same Aston Martin lettering on the rear of the car as first seen on the Aston Martin DB11 V8 coupe. Alluring ultra 'light blade' tail lights finish off the rear of the car perfectly and finish off the Volante's truly gorgeous silhouette.

The DB11 Volante is ideal for summer grand touring, perfect for those coastal roads. With a 503bhp V8 engine, the new DB11 Volante takes after its coupe sibling in offering both superb performance and the ability to become a relaxing cruiser when needed. Retract the roof, and keen drivers will appreciate being able to hear even more of the glorious V8 soundtrack.

The power is helped and kept in control by a 3-stage powertrain and chassis setting, along with an 8-speed automatic paddle-shift gearbox. What's more, the DB11 Volante comes with electronic power steering as well as a limited-slip differential with dynamic torque vectoring. This enables the driver to be able to tailor the Volante to their own personal preference, depending on factors such as weather, road conditions or simply their disposition.

Despite being heavier than its coupe counterpart, it's only a tenth longer to 62mph at 4.1 seconds.

The same 2+2 layout is used, as seen in the coupe versions. Wood or carbon-fibre seat backs bring even more luxury and class to the interior, along with state-of-the-art technology used within the infotainment system which includes an optional Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 13-speaker audio system to ensure this is the most complete and advanced Volante Aston Martin has ever made.
