Stratstone Aston Martin of Mayfair recently hosted the 'Electric Future' event at their showroom, which is based on Park Lane. The event was created to give the general public and media an opportunity to get acquainted with the Rapide E that is currently available, as well as experience the futuristic Lagonda Vision Concept, which features in the British marque's Vision for the Future.

The event itself was a huge success, with large numbers of guests enjoying talks from Aston Martin representatives John Caress, Vehicle Line Director for Rapide E and Simon Croft, Senior Manager for Launch Strategy, who took them through the technology that featured in both vehicles.

The 'Electric Future' event was the first time the Rapide E and Lagonda Vision Concept had been on public display since their appearances at the Shanghai Automotive Show and 2018 Geneva Motor Show respectively.

In keeping with the 'green' theme, the dealership worked with Grace and Thorn, a florist renowned for their off-beat approach to floral and plant styling, to create a stunning backdrop that emphasized the features of the futuristic vehicles being showcased.

Currently on the market, although limited to just 155 examples, the Aston Martin Rapide E is the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) produced by the British car makers. It is set to enter production towards the end of the year at the company’s Home of Electrification in St Athan, which is based in Wales.

Relaunched as the world’s first zero emission luxury brand in 2018, Lagonda will confound traditional thinking and take full advantage of the latest advances in electrification and autonomous driving technologies.

Speaking about the event, Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin Lagonda, said: “When we relaunched Lagonda, we set ourselves an ambitious target to be the world’s first luxury electric brand. We see the Lagonda brand sitting within a unique niche in the market. It is for the high-end luxury customer who wants to explore and be autonomous while remaining mindful of the impact they are having on the environment. Lagonda will achieve this but it will also provide joy and delight to the people who get to enjoy its unique internal environment.”
