Stratstone of Mayfair Hosts Power of Women Event

16th Nov 2018

The Power of Women, a contemporary motivational and inspirational 10-week TV series, which celebrates the experiences and success stories of avid superwomen, hosted members from The Sorority – a trusted circle of international businesswomen, entrepreneurs, leaders and pioneers – at an exclusive event on Monday 15th October.

The event took place at Stratstone of Mayfair Land Rover, and supported The Power of Women’s ambition to set up the stage to feature some of the world’s most philanthropic, powerful and extraordinary women from a varied range of industries – with this particular event focusing on the automotive industry.

Guests were welcomed to a drinks reception and light canapés and were invited to mingle and network amongst each other before listening to speeches from a panel of inspirational women.

A selection of keynote speakers including Rosemary Reed, creator and director of The Power of Women series, Farah Nanji, female race car driver and DJ and Emile Delam, co- founder of Crypto Rally, spoke of their achievements and triumphs within the automotive industry.

Jo Moxon, HR Director at Pendragon – Stratstone’s parent company - opened the evening by sharing her personal story as well as the work underway within the Stratstone business to create a more diverse and inclusive place to work in addition to the changes needed across the wider automotive industry. She commented: “We are very proud to not only have hosted this motivational and empowering event, but to also be supporting the cause and building a relationship with The Power of Women and The Sorority.
“We are committed to continue developing a more diverse and inclusive culture here at Pendragon, encouraging women to enjoy working within an organisation that embraces their talents and potential, allowing a progressive and rewarding career.

“We are regularly reviewing and changing our business to be more responsive and appealing to both female customers and team members. We have recently introduced new, family friendly working patterns and roles in our Stratstone business, attracting substantially more women than we would attract to more traditional roles. This has resulted in a very different and diverse workforce.

“In respect of The Power of Women event, it was great to see a room filled with such inspiring and inspirational role models making some real and powerful changes”.
