An SUV version of the Mercedes-Benz EQS all-electric luxury saloon has been revealed and will be on the road later in 2022.

With the same 3,210mm long wheelbase as the saloon, the SUV is some 20cm higher and can be had as a seven-seater as an option.

Prices are still to be announced, but are expected to start from around £110,000.

Measuring 5,125mm in length, 1,959mm wide and 1,718mm high, the SUV can be had either with rear wheel or all-wheel drive and is said to have a range of up to 410 miles.

Cargo space ranges from 645 litres to 2,100 litres for the five-seat model, with the seven-seat arrangement taking that down to 565 litres and a maximum of 2,020.

Three variants of the SUV will be available, but Mercedes-Benz has still to confirm performance data.

The EQS all-electric saloon was the first Mercedes-Benz model in which new vehicle functions can be via over-the-air updates, and the SUV takes that further.

For example, Trailer Manoeuvring Assist or MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation can be activated at a later date.

Air suspension enables variable ride height settings while four-wheel steering aids manoeuvring, while the all-wheel drive versions have special drive modes for off-road work.

Prices correct as of 20/04/22 and are subject to change.
