Interior

Step inside the new BMW 8 Series Coupé and understand the definition of luxury and performance combined. Embrace the 8's racing DNA, with a driver-orientated centre console and new multifunctional sport seats. Experience the sports car with luxurious features too including ambient interior lighting, harman/kardon loudspeaker system, frameless rear-view mirror and the CraftedClarity Glass Application on the gear lever and other driver controls.

The 8's interior is unique, comprising a seamless new design featuring the instrument and door panel finish in leather also enhanced with contrast stitching. The sports seats themselves come in Merino leather, complimentary to the exclusive design featuring flowing transitions between the instrument panels and the doors.

Beautiful handmade crystal cut glass on selected control features such as the gear selector, the Start/Stop button and iDrive Controller, only adds too to the luxurious feel throughout.

Exterior

The BMW 8 Series Coupé is sporty looking from the exterior, with particular thanks to its curved and muscular surfaces. The usual number of lines along the bodywork are beautifully contoured, reducing the obvious set fixtures and maximising a new silhouette concept.

The proportions are powerful, reflecting the highest performance class of BMW sports car. Courtesy of this, ample wheel arches highlight a low centre of gravity with a classic rear-wheel drive. Of course, classic BMW features such as the BMW kidney grille, rear lights in the shape of an L and the usual kink in the graphics of the rear windows are present too but this time with a modern twist.

The graceful but wide rear lights are designed to interpret the 8's powerful but elegant personality, as well as creating emphasis on the athletic shoulders, again shaping the vehicles influential presence. The BMW kidney grille resembles the iconic shark nose on BMW racing cars such as the BMW 3.0 CSL or BMW 507, emphasising once more the sporty edge to this luxury car. It's fair to say, elegance meets racer car in an effortless fashion.

Technology

Along with the 8's charming design and superb quality, is the state-of-the-art levels of technology on board. Of course, you can expect optimum spec with a 10.23-inch touchscreen information display and complete digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, fully fitted with the latest version of BMW's iDrive infotainment system.  The revolutionary system features the most intuitive voice recognition yet and a range of personalised controls too, adapting to your own daily music or phone call habits perhaps.

This centre console is generally positioned high while you sit low, adding to the sporty feel. The optional crystal-cut glass gear selector, start button and iDrive selector make the high-tech augmentations on the BMW 8 Series Coupé look and feel pure luxury.

Additionally, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional is a package of advanced driver assistance features designed to aid safety, convenience and seamless control. This is accountable for the collective amount of premium kit on the incredible new 8 Series, including the BMW Digital Key, enabling an engine start up by simply placing your phone on a charging pad, without needing an actual key at all.
