Hot Hatch Tour: Stratstone Lends Mr JWW a MINI JCW

13th Nov 2017

The 'Hot Hatch' was born in the mid-seventies with the birth of the iconic Mk1 Golf GTi. Since then, manufacturers from all over the world have given us their take on the 'Hot Hatch' with performance versions of their humble hatchback.

On Saturday 11th November we handed over the keys of a stunning 2017 MINI JCW Hot Hatch to automotive lifestyle YouTuber MrJWW to feature in his latest video series, 'The Hot Hatch Tour'.

The tour is taking place from Monday 13th until Thursday 16th November with 2 other YouTubers; Paul from 'Supercars of London' and Sam from 'Seen Through Glass' who along with Mr JWW will be driving hot hatches from South Wales, via the Cotswolds and on to Central London.

The first of the video series has been released showing the handover at Stratstone MINI Leeds. It has already had over 50k views in 24 hours.

As well as the MINI JCW driven by Mr JWW (James), Sam is driving an Abarth 595 Competizione and Paul is driving an Audi RS3 Saloon - it seems he didn't get the 'Hot Hatch' memo - watch the videos to find out the reason.

Mr JWW is also a customer of Stratstone and joined us at out Ferrari 70 Year Celebration in August. He has recently shared a video choosing the specification of his new Ferrari 812 Superfast at our Wilmslow Ferrari dealer.

You can find out more about Mr JWW here, and be sure to check Stratstone for updates regarding the 'Hot Hatch Tour' featuring Stratstone MINI.

The first video in the #HotHatchTour is now live on the 'Seen Through Glass' YouTube Channel featuring Mr JWW in our awesome little MINI JCW. Mr JWW gives our MINI some rather fitting compliments, and it certainly looks like the guys are getting the most out of their chosen Hot Hatches. We have enjoyed keeping up with the trio's social media, to see what they have been getting up to and just how good the 'Hot Hatch' concept is, despite the saloon Audi RS3 invasion - watch the video and you'll understand!

The video documenting the second day, presented by Paul (Supercars of London) looks at how good the MINI JCW, Abarth 595 Competizione and Audi RS3 Saloon are at town driving. The video looks at how nimble the cars are and of course, how easy they are to park! Inevitably, it's not straight forward, and one of the guys ends up going on somewhat of a mission, that they hadn't bargained on!

The third and final video is delivered by Mr JWW, and sees Sam join him in the MINI JCW, as they race Paul (Supercars of London) across London, only as he brought the wrong car (a saloon) to the #HotHatchTour, the guys decide to pitch him against the MINI JCW in a car with three times the power! Watch the video now to see exactly what happens!

So, there you have it. Three days, two hot hatches, a hot saloon and a supercar! Our MINI JCW basically proved its Hot Hatch worth and it looks like Mr JWW certainly enjoyed it from the praise the JCW receives in each video.

If the video series has got you lusting after a MINI JCW for yourself, why not take a look at our current MINI offers?
