New 2018 MINI Hatch & Convertible Available Now

Exterior
Easily recognisable as a MINI, the key to the new model is all in the details. The MINI Hatch, in either 3 or 5-door now comes as standard with front and rear LED lights for the UK market, as does the convertible.
A brand-new MINI logo has been introduced too, using a flat two-dimensional design, which reflects MINI's new brand identity, focusing on essentials such as distinctive design, driving fun, premium quality and emotional appeal. Sharp front and rear LED lights now come as standard, with the rear lights resembling the Union Jack motif too, for a true bespoke look.
For the first time in-class, optional 'Matrix' adaptive LED headlamps will also be available, which automatically adjust brightness depending on road conditions. Three new colours have been made available as well, including Emerald Grey metallic, Starlight Blue metallic and Solaris Orange metallic.
Interior
As ever, the interior of the new MINI models, perfectly complements the exterior panache. An extensive selection of interior surfaces and colour lines ensure the interior is as individual as your personal taste. Highlights include Chester leather trim in Malt Brown and a colour line also in that of Malt Brown.
Other brand-new options for 2018 include the MINI Yours Interior in Piano Black, which provides customers with the option of a distinctive backlit decorative strip along the instrument panel, on the passenger side of the car. This is part of the MINI Excitement Package.
Customisation
The ability for customisation is near endless on any MINI, but this new model takes it even further, cementing it as one of the MINI's stand-out features. This means you can make your MINI as bespoke as you are. As well as new exterior and interior features and alloy wheel designs, MINI Yours Customised takes custom MINI features to new levels.
Customers can design parts of their car themselves, including items such as side scuttles and decorative strips via a specially created online shop. Various colours, patterns, icons and structures can receive the custom treatment. This is all completed by the use of 3D printing and laser engraving.
Technology
As standard, each MINI feature a 6.5-inch full colour display, along with a multifunction steering wheel. Customers can upgrade the 6.5-inch screen to a 9.8-inch touchscreen display, comprising of MINI Navigation and Apple CarPlay. This new Navigation Plus Package, which can be had as an option also features wireless phone charging and MINI Connected Services. This includes Real Time Traffic Information, Natural Language Understanding, online services and MINI Concierge.
Performance and Economy
Model variants follow the familiar order with the entry level One, rising to the range topping John Cooper Works. Alterations to the engines available have been used to further enhance the iconic driving experience a MINI gives. One of the stand-out features is the use of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic on the engine cover. This benefits the MINI's reduced weight and makes use of recycled material generated by the creation of BMW 'I' range electric models.
The most economical in the range is the Cooper D, which uses a 1.5-litre diesel engine, producing 114hp. It will return an impressive 74mpg combined. The most performance focused is of course the MINI John Cooper Works 3-Door Hatch. It produces a potent 231hp, which propels it from 0-62mph in just 6.1 seconds, with the auto transmission option selected.
