Porsche Classic Restoracing Competition

Our Porsche Centres comprising of; Bolton, Nottingham, Wolverhampton and Wilmslow have been restoring a number of the 986 Porsche Boxster S models. The goal is to then race them against other Porsche Centres from all over the UK who have also been restoring and preparing their very own 986 Porsche Boxster S models too. The racing will take place at a number of the UK's most popular race tracks.

The competition is to celebrate 20 years since the 986 Porsche Boxster was launched, a car that made a substantial difference to the Porsche model line-up. Each car will be judged upon the quality and execution of their restoration, with judges taking into account the condition of the bodywork, paintwork and of course the mechanical elements of the car too. And of course, which is fastest around a race track! What's more, each car will have a legendary livery applied, made famous by a Porsche racing car of yesteryear.

Centres will nominate their chosen driver, who will then race the restored 986 Boxster in three rounds of racing. These will take place at; Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit - 5th and 6th May 2018 Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit - 2nd June 2018 Brands Hatch Indy Circuit - 2nd September 2018

The 986 Porsche Boxster was produced between 1996 and 2004. The Boxster S was introduced in 1999 and featured a larger capacity engine, being upped from the standard Boxster's 2.7-litre to a 3.2-litre producing just over 250bhp, which was again increased further into the 986 Boxster S' life.

 

Bolton

Finished in the bright blue Wallys Jeans 'Lucky Spark' livery, seen on the 1974 Porsche 911 RSR.

Nottingham

Completed using a white, with red wheels livery inspired by Martini Racing, perhaps one of the most famous liveries to be associated with Porsche racing cars.
