The vertical hexagon-shaped grille and intake surrounds are unique to the allroad too, clear to see even before you notice the extra height.
The boot holds 466 litres with the rear seats in place. Fold them flat and this rises to 1,497 litres. An optional trailer hitch, unlocked from a button inside the load area, allows for towing up to 2,500kg. Rear seats fold in a 40:20:40 split, so long items can travel alongside two rear passengers instead of displacing them.

Technology and Safety

Powertrains and Performance
Two powertrains are available. The diesel carries on a familiar formula. A 3.0-litre V6 with mild hybrid assistance produces 295bhp and 428lb ft of torque. It reaches 0 to 62mph in 5.4 seconds.
This is also the first allroad offered as a plug-in hybrid, named the A6 allroad e-hybrid. A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine pairs with an electric motor for a combined 362bhp and 369lb ft, and the same sprint takes 5.5 seconds. Its 25.9kWh battery supports up to 59 miles of electric-only range.
At low speed, the rear wheels steer up to five degrees against the fronts. This tightens the turning circle.
Both engines drive through Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system as standard. Torque splits continuously between the axles. Adaptive air suspension features across the range, smoothing out poor road surfaces. Handling stays precise as the road improves. The result favours comfortable long-distance cruising, with extra capability available when the weather or terrain turns difficult.
