The Audi A6 allroad e-hybrid takes Audi's go-anywhere estate away from combustion power for the first time. A turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor work together under the bonnet, producing a combined output suited to commuting and longer journeys alike. Quattro all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering are both standard, and adaptive air suspension adjusts ride height automatically for road or rougher terrain.

Design and Practicality
Under the bonnet, an electric motor integrated into the transmission housing works alongside a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine. Together they produce a combined output of 362bhp and 369lb ft of torque. The result is a 0 to 62mph time of 5.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
Energy is stored in a 25.9kWh battery, with 20.7kWh available for driving. On electric power alone, the A6 allroad e-hybrid covers up to 63 miles under WLTP testing. That is enough for most daily journeys without needing to call on the petrol engine at all.
The hybrid management system automatically selects the most efficient balance between electric and petrol power, adjusting continuously as driving conditions alter. Quattro all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering remain active regardless of drive mode, providing both stability at high speed and good manoeuvrability at low speeds.
Charging
The A6 allroad e-hybrid comes standard with an 11kW onboard charger. With a suitable home wallbox, the battery charges from 0 to 80 percent in about two and a half hours. An overnight top-up ensures the battery is ready for electric-only driving each morning.
Unlike a fully electric vehicle, the A6 allroad e-hybrid does not support rapid DC charging, so nighttime home or daytime workplace charging remains the most practical approach.
Regenerative braking also tops up the battery during driving, recovering energy that would otherwise be lost while braking or on downhill stretches. This works alongside plug-in charging to help maintain electric range across a typical day.
