Introducing the Audi Q8 e-tron

Dark Grey Audi Q8 e-tron Front Grille

The Audi Q8 e-tron is fully-electric, signified by its 'e-tron' name, and features the unmistakable dimensions of a conventional SUV - whilst it can also be had in a Sportback version which has a roofline like that of a sporty coupé.

The 'e-tron' name has been a mainstay in the UK for a number of years now, and represents the brand's range of electric vehicles. Since its introduction, there are now multiple Audi e-tron models available in the Audi range.

Design and Practicality

The design of the Q8 e-tron takes the foundation of the regular Audi Q8, and presents it with a fully-electric powertrain, along with some bespoke design details signifying its electric nature.

This approach is for those who would like the cutting-edge technology an electric SUV gives, without straying too far away from the classic style of Audi SUVs.

Either way, whatever your preference, the Q8 e-tron offers plenty of interior space along with a large 569-litre boot.

However, as the Audi Q8 e-tron is fully-electric, there is also a further 62 litres of space up front, in the 'frunk' as it is not taken up fully by components, enhancing the Q8 e-tron's practicality even further.

Interior, Technology, and Safety

As a fully-electric SUV, the technology is clear from the get-go with the Audi Q8 e-tron offering refined levels of performance with the uncanny vibe the electric motor gives, boosted by a decent range of up to 343 miles.

The cabin is typical high quality Audi too, with a digital technology showcase presented via two central touchscreens and the smart and cutting-edge Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster.

Safety is also impressive, with lots of driver assistance features in the range, including:

  • 360-degree parking camera
  • Blind-spot monitor
  • Head-up display
  • Day and Night rear view mirror
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • Audi pre sense
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

Range and Performance

The Audi Q8 e-tron makes use of an electric motor and battery rather than a convention internal combustion engine, due to its fully-electric nature.

There are two battery options to choose from, comprising an 89kWh version, or a larger 106kWh unit.

The former 89kWh version offers a potent 335bhp, which gives a 0 to 62mph time of just 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 124mph. This is complemented by a range of up to 290 miles.

Offering more power with 402bhp is the 106kWh version, which also increases the range to 343 miles, along with being quicker too, with 0 to 62mph taking just 5.6 seconds.
