Audi caused quite the stir when they released the original R8 in 2007, since it was their first attempt at building a production supercar. The original car was released with a 4.2-litre V8, however, the current model you see here boasts a sonorous 5.2-litre V10 that's available with anywhere between 538 and 618bhp (depending on spec).

The R8 is available with the brand's legendary Quattro all-wheel drive system, which provides insane amounts of grip. If you want a purer experience, then a rear-wheel drive version exists, too. Each modern car is fitted with a 7-speed S tronic automatic gearbox, which makes for seamless shifts and acceleration.

Inside, the R8 gets the brand's Virtual Cockpit (a digital instrument cluster) alongside a premium sound system, sports seats and parking assistance. The Audi R8 is a relatively rare car, so if you want an alternative fast Audi then we'd recommend the RS 3 or TT.
