Introducing the BMW 5 Series
Luxury at its finest, but don't just take our word for it. As the winner of the What Car? Best Luxury Car 2020, it's clear to see that the BMW 5 Series is a superb choice if you are looking to buy a luxury car.
Powerful and efficient BMW TwinPower engines complemented by a lightweight construction, demonstrating a perfect blend of elegance and presence.
The BMW 5 Series is quite simply the benchmark for the business saloon. Discover the details below.
The BMW 5 Series is a business saloon (also available as a Touring estate and Gran Turismo) that has gone from strength to strength and is now presented in a stunning seventh generation. But with every sequel, it is important to keep some iconic parts to maintain the heritage.
With the 5 Series, this is done via the legendary kidney grille, which is now linked in with the sharp headlight design. Elsewhere a more rakish roof line concludes with a lower line toward the rear of the executive and muscular body, for a sophisticated yet distinguished silhouette.
This is the BMW 5 Series enhanced.
Interior and Technology
The Ultimate Driving Machine is accomplished by ensuring the driver is at one with the car, with the cockpit putting the driver at the centre of attention, allowing for a greater experience.
Digital instrument clusters welcome the driver to a state-of-the-art experience too, along with a widescreen infotainment screen, with perfect colour presentation. Beautifully crafted switchgear is joined by high-end material choice and a variety of attractive leather options.
Seamless connectivity ensures you can stay in tune to your world effectively, easily and legally with BMW ConnectedDrive and Intelligent Personal Assistant. You can even take advantage of Remote Control Parking via the optional and incredibly state-of-the-art BMW Display Key.
Economy and Performance
A trio of fuel choices are available for this award-winning executive saloon car, with familiar rear-wheel drive or optional xDrive all-wheel-drive for added stability and safety.
Petrol models include the 520i, 530i and 540i xDrive. The diesel alternatives mirror their petrol counterparts somewhat with a 520d and 530d, both available with and without xDrive all-wheel drive and offer enhanced economy due to their fuel type.
For ultimate economy, there is also a state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid in the form of a 530e, again with or without xDrive and capable of up to 36 miles on full electric power only.
