Performance & Efficiency

Equipped with Mercedes' latest generation of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines the GLC is powerful yet efficient, lowering fuel consumption and reducing CO2 emissions; whilst improving engine output. The petrol units are teamed with a 48-volt onboard electrical system with a belt-driven starter motor enabling fuel-saving hybrid functions such as "energy recovery", "boost" and "sailing mode".

With 4MATIC fully variable all-wheel-drive across the entire range, the toughest of terrains can be tackled with confidence enabling off-road driving, even in adverse weather conditions.  Additionally the GLC comes with a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, which supports both a dynamic and a fuel-saving driving style.

The model update introduces the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension with adjustable dampers to the GLC for the first time.  The damping can be controlled separately for each wheel in interaction with the engine, transmission and steering dependent on the driving conditions. In conjunction with the DYNAMIC SYSTEM you can select from three settings: the two stages "Sport" and "Sport +" deliver firmer damper characteristics, while "Comfort" mode provides an exceptionally comfortable ride.

The innovative MBUX system is a new feature in the updated model of the GLC. The intuitive system enables interaction using voice control, gestures or touch. The intelligent interior assistant can determine whether it's the passenger or the driver making the command and make personalised adjustments accordingly.

An optional extra is the the Augmented Video which enhances the navigation by highlighting information such as traffic signs and house numbers on the multimedia display; improving the satellite navigation.

KEYLESS GO is a new standard-fit feature in the GLC; using the turbine-look start-stop button.

An abundance of intelligent driving assistance systems are available when selecting the Driving Assistance Package (optional extra) including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Steer Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and Route Based Speed Adjustment.

Active Braking Assist is a standard feature in the UK which reduces the risk of a potential accident by detecting oncoming vehicles, utilising the long-range radar sensor and the stereo multi-purpose camera.

A further optional extra is the Active Parking Assist, which provides assisted pulling and reversing into and out of parallel and end-on parking spaces. Another highlight is the Trailer Manoeuvring Assist, which supports the driver with manoeuvring in reverse.

Interior

The interior remains elegant with refined materials, precision workmanship and flowing shapes. There are two versions available of the modified multifunction, spoke design steering wheel and they both enhance the sporty characteristics of the interior. In addition to the piano lacquer finish, two new wood surfaces are available (open-pore ash wood and walnut) for personalising the centre console trim.

The free-standing multimedia display in the centre console is available in 10.25 inches with 1920 x 720 pixels. The display can be represented in three different modes ("Classic", "Sport" and "Progressive") to complement the mood of the interior.

The optional ENERGIZING comfort control creates an optimal interior environment by controlling and integrating various vehicle systems including lighting, musical atmosphere, climate control, suitable music and video selections as well as massage function, heating and ventilation of the seats. The advanced ENERGIZING COACH uses data from the vehicle and surroundings to personalise the systems to suit the individual. The precision of the experience can be improved by wearing a suitable GarminĀ® wearable that tracks personal scores such as stress level or quality of sleep.
