The New Generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The S-Class has always been the pinnacle luxury flagship saloon produced by Mercedes-Benz.

It is simply the ultimate in luxury and technology and state-of-the-art technology which appears on the S-Class, usually filters down to other manufacturers in future - Mercedes-Benz is always one step ahead of the game in expertise when it comes to the S-Class.

The latest facelift showcased in 2017 featured minor style tweaks, as perfection usually cannot be enhanced.

Now, Mercedes-Benz have refreshed the gorgeous S-Class Coupe too, along with the cabriolet.

The new Mercedes-Benz Coupe and Cabriolet are available in three guises: The S 560 AMG Line which is the standard S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet, which then moves up to the S 63 AMG and finally sitting at the top of the range, the S 65 AMG - available on both Coupe and Cabriolet variants.

Both S-Class Coupe and Convertible have received minor styling updates, again making them just that little bit more stunning, which comprise of a new front bumper, new side skirts and rear tail pipe design to name but a few.

The S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet interiors are nothing short of stunning. This is evident with the dual-bonded widescreen cockpit display comprising of digital gauges and media infotainment screen. This is complimented further by a striking use of ambient lighting, which comprises of 64 different colours.

Throughout the range the S-Class Coupe makes use of some unbelievable features. AIRMATIC air suspension enables the Coupe to ride as beautifully as the S-Class Saloon, famed worldwide for its superb ride quality. OLED (organic light emitting diode) taillights ensure for a crisp and clean light, which is unique both in day and night settings.

Elsewhere a Burmester ® premiums surround sound system enables wonderfully crisp audio, along with convenient wireless smartphone charging. Premium upgrades are also available in the range, including a 360 ° camera, massage function seats and AIR BALANCE, which allows the driver to select one of six scents, to add fragrance to the interior adding to the overall stunning ambience.

No matter which version of the S-Class Coupe you go for, you'll receive a dominating amount of power, performance and limousine-like ride. Not to mention cutting edge technology and range-topping material choice and options.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet S 560 AMG Line

A new bi-turbo V8 engine has been utilised for the facelifted S-Class Coupe/Cabriolet which still develops a luscious 469hp, delivering its power via a 9-speed automatic transmission, enabling this monstrous coupe or cabriolet - whichever your preference, to hit 62mph in just 4.6 seconds. Which, for a car weighing over 2-tonnes is nothing short of incredible.

Styling is subtle and classy. It is less menacing than its full-AMG siblings, which sit further up the range, yet still features a touch of sports styling - such as the revised chrome air inlets on the new front bumper design, along with optional 20" wheel designs.

Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe/Cabriolet

Above the S 560 is the S 63 AMG Coupe. This time instead of the AMG LINE trim level, you get full-fat AMG styling and performance. This means that although the S 63 uses the same bi-turbo V8 engine as the S 560 AMG Line, power has been increased to 612hp.

The power is fed through a 9-speed automatic gearbox enabling the S 63 AMG Coupe to hit 62mph in just 4.2 seconds.

Styling is much more sporty and aggressive, as expected with the full AMG package, comprising of a more aggressive front bumper, complete with large air intake comprising a jetwing-design, AMG 20" wheels and a new Panamericana Grille is adopted on the S 63 reflects the design on the halo AMG-GTR.

Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupe/Cabriolet

Sitting at the top of the S-Class Coupe range, the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Coupe is an expression of ultimate power, luxury and understated class.

Unlike the S 560 AMG Line and S 63 which use bi-turbo V8 engines, the S 65 AMG coupe uses an even more ferocious powerplant in the shape of a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 developing a magnificent 630hp.

Interestingly, within this range-topping S65 the 9-speed automatic gearbox has been swapped for a 7-speed auto. Despite weighing the most out of the trio of S-Class Coupes, the S 65 can hit 62mph in just 4.1 seconds!
