Introducing the Audi A3 Saloon
The Audi A3 has been a mainstay within the model range since 1996, originally as a handsome and sophisticated hatchback (which Audi calls a Sportback).
Since 2012, however, Audi also offered the popular A3 Saloon, which we have here, further broadening the A3's appeal.
This latest evolution of the A3 Saloon is the most accomplished yet, and perfectly complements the Audi A3 Sportback version.
Design and Practicality
Audi design has become wonderfully sophisticated over the years, and this Saloon version of the admired A3 is the sharpest and most polished version of the additional body style yet, allowing you to find your perfect Audi A3 with ease.
It is not too dissimilar to the 'original' Sportback, meaning it adopts the same smartly styled honeycomb grille and sleek trapezoidal LED headlights at the front of the vehicle. The Saloon version is arguably even more sophisticated, as Saloon cars tend to be, again with Audi giving the car just the right amount of flair and detail, the A3 Saloon is once again textbook Audi.
Being the Saloon version, you also benefit from a large 425-litre boot, too.
Technology and Safety
Just like the rest of the sophisticated Audi range, the interior of the A3 Saloon has an enhanced level of quality about it.
The interior features a curved display centerpiece utilising the 11.9-inch Audi Virtual cockpit and 12.8-inch MMI touch display. The premium materials continue throughout the interior including four material options to choose from including carbon fibre, dinamica microfiber and textile fabrics available in 'light crepe' and the ever-popular 'impressum black'.
Of course, safety is also excellent when it comes to the A3 Saloon, thanks to advanced safety features which include:
- Parking assist system
- Cruise control
- Pre sense front collision warning
- Automatic braking
- Lane departure warning
- Road sign recognition
Engines and Performance
There is a choice of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines when looking at an Audi A3 Saloon. These are further differentiated by four trim levels of Technik, Sport, S Line and Black Edition.
It is worth noting that many A3 models can be selected with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic (S tronic) transmission.
If you are after the very best performance when looking at an Audi A3 Saloon, you will no doubt want to check out the Audi S3 Saloon and RS3 Saloon - which are also available in Sportback body styles too.
Test drive the Audi A3 Saloon
If you like the sought-after Audi A3, but want a change from the regular Sportback body shape, then the Saloon version could be ideal, and perfectly complements the Audi A3 range.
