The S7 is a more dynamic, high performance version of the Audi A7. It is naturally fast, being an Audi S model, but is not as hardcore in performance terms as the RS 7, as Audi RS models sit as the range toppers in most cases.

Unlike the majority of Audi Sport models, the S7 actually uses a diesel engine, rather than the more traditional petrol engine.

The chosen unit is a 3.0-litre V6 TDI, with mild-hybrid technology, which produces 344bhp, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, complete with Quattro all-wheel drive, for enhanced grip no matter the weather. This means 0 to 62mph is dealt with in a brisk 5.1 seconds, whilst being a diesel, the S7 should return circa 39mpg.

If you do a lot of motorway driving, a used S7 could be ideal, as it has got the punch for you to enjoy occasionally, but with almost 40mpg with ease, the S7 proves you do not need RS7 performance for mile-munching.
