Being fully-electric, there is no engine with a used Audi SQ8 e-tron, instead you get dual-electric motors and a battery producing 495bhp, good enough for a 0 to 62mph time in just 4.5 seconds, along with a top speed of 130mph.
That acceleration means it offers sports car pace, in a practical SUV package.
It is rather heavy though, which gives the sense of refinement and solidness, but it is not really agile, but it can munch miles with ease.
If you want a more dynamic feel, a petrol-powered used Audi RS Q8 may be more your thing, or if it needs to be electric, then a Porsche Taycan could be more suitable. It may not be an SUV, but it still drives like a sports car.
Practicality and Running Costs
Despite being a sporty electric SUV, there are excellent levels of practicality on offer with a used Audi SQ8 e-tron.
You get a massive 569-litre boot, meaning more space than a BMW iX which has 69 litres less. There is also lots of cabin space, meaning five people can get comfortable with absolute ease.
As for running costs, being electric, the SQ8 e-tron should be easier to run than its petrol SQ8 sibling. Although, tyres and the like will be around the same, commanding more due to their low profile nature.

Interior, Technology, and Safety
Interior quality of a used Audi SQ8 e-tron is superb. It takes the stunning Audi Virtual Cockpit and enhances the vibe perfectly, without going over the top or cheapening the digital aspect, which can occur in some modern SUVs.
The digital instrument cluster is cocooned where you would expect it to be in a cove behind the steering wheel, and it has not been merged with the infotainment screen like many modern SUVs.
Furthermore, there is an additional screen under the infotainment screen - located in the centre of the dashboard, that shows the air conditioning settings, which is a nice touch.
Three screens may seem too many, but Audi has ensured it suits the SQ8 e-tron's flagship vibe perfectly.
Safety kit is also excellent, along with the technology on offer, with cruise control, reverse camera, parking sensors all coming standard.
Being a range-topping model, you can also find models spec'd even higher, with even more features, but these will command more when buying used.
Is the Audi SQ8 e-tron right for me?
A used range-topping all-electric SUV like the Audi SQ8 e-tron is a fine choice if you want a do-it-all SUV that offers rapid pace, but can settle and provide ultra comfort when the mood suits.
The Mercedes EQC may seem lacking with the extra performance offered from the Audi SQ8 e-tron, whilst a Tesla Model Y or X may appeal more if pace has to be top in your electric SUV, although the interior of the Teslas do not match the Audi's class.
