Design and Practicality
Possessing a similar style to that of previous generations, the 2 Series Active Tourer has received a number of updates to give a more dynamic look.
Precise lines and a smooth silhouette work in tandem with features such as the flush-integrated door handles to reduce aerodynamic drag, while the updated rear end plays host to slimmer tail lights to complete the new, sporty aesthetic.
The 2 Series Active Tourer is also slightly larger than its predecessor, which means more head and legroom for occupants. Combine this with up to 1,455 litres of boot space (when the rear seats are folded down) and you have an extremely versatile and practical package. Full LED headlights also come as standard, which offer efficient and enhanced visibility.
Technology and Safety
Updates on the inside of the car are equally as impressive as those on the outside. An intuitive operating concept means the 2 Series Active Tourer comes loaded with the latest BMW iDrive technologies and a curved driver display to offer an immersive driving experience.
Physical knobs and buttons have been replaced by a fully digital infotainment system that is easy to navigate, ensuring the interior is up-to-date. Controllable via touch or natural dialogue, the system increases convenience and allows your attention to be kept on the road.
Safety is another area where the 2 Series Active Tourer performs well. A standard driver assistance pack includes technology such as lane departure warning with active return to the lane, as well as front collision warning. Engines and Performance

Two mild-hybrid petrol engines are available from launch, badged the 220i (168bhp) and 223i (215bhp), that are capable of achieving 47.9mpg and 46.1mpg respectively. For maximum efficiency, the 218d (145bhp) diesel offers a combined WLTP fuel economy figure of up to 57.6mpg. Automatic transmissions come as standard across all models.
The 220i can go from 0 to 62mph in as little as 8.1 seconds, whilst the higher-powered 223i takes 7 seconds, allowing the 2 Series Active Tourer to be fun to drive as well as highly practical. 218d variants take 9 seconds to reach 62mph from a standstill. If you are after maximum performance, the 225e xDrive or 230e xDrive plug-in hybrids are the ones to go for.
