BMW Proactive Care ensures you will receive proactive, individual support if your BMW were to encounter a fault, require a service, break down or have an accident.
It does this via a dedicated BMW ConnectedDrive account. This is done in the My BMW app or the My BMW portal.
It is a proactive way to stay ahead of anything untoward with your BMW, or to give a gentle reminder to ensure BMW ownership can run as smoothly as possible.

Requirements
- An active BMW ConnectedDrive account for your BMW.
- A vehicle assigned to your BMW ID, either in the My BMW app or via the My BMW portal.
- Your personal data registered under your BMW ID, including your current phone number, email address, and preferred BMW Service Partner (e.g. Stratstone BMW Chesterfield).
- Consent to the Privacy Policy within the vehicle, allowing BMW and your BMW Service Partner or BMW AG to contact you.
- Push notifications enabled in the My BMW app to facilitate timely updates and alerts.
Ensure you have given permission in the vehicle settings to allow communication from BMW and your selected service partner, making it easier to receive essential updates.
How it Works
BMW Proactive Care operates through vehicle sensors that detect service requirements or potential faults at an early stage and transmit this information to BMW. We will then proactively contact you via the My BMW app, directly in the vehicle, or via email. In urgent cases, you will receive a phone call.
Example scenarios include:
- A reminder notification for your routine BMW service.
- Immediate support if your BMW breaks down or is involved in an accident, provided by the BMW Roadside Assistance team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Proactive Care is available worldwide for all BMW models with Operating System 7 (from 07/2019) or later. To access all services, ensure you have an active BMW ConnectedDrive account, add your vehicle to your BMW ID in the My BMW app or portal, and update your contact details and preferred BMW partner.
Don’t forget to consent to the Privacy Policy for data transmission and enable push notifications in the My BMW app for seamless communication.
