Used BMW iX1 for sale
If you are in the market for a sharp, dynamic yet comfortable, cutting-edge, entry-level SUV, that is also fully-electric, then a used BMW iX1 would make a fine choice. Revealed in 2022 as part of the third generation of BMW X1 model range, the iX1 looks almost identical to its internal combustion sibling, the X1.
An interesting decision by BMW, as many manufacturers electric offerings stand out when compared to their combustion models, but there is no denying it seems to have worked for the Munich carmaker, as the X1 and its variants continue to be popular.
On the face of it, a used BMW iX1 offers:

Engines and Driving Experience
Identified by the 'i' in its name, the BMW iX1 is fully-electric. It is essentially an electric BMW X1. Of course, if you like the idea of a used iX1 but prefer a typical internal combustion engine instead, then a used BMW X1 should fit the bill well.
However, get behind the wheel of a used iX1 and you may think again. The instant torque, and uncanny acceleration of the BMW iX1 may just swing your decision, as it is genuinely grin and laugh inducing when first experiencing the iX1's acceleration when opting for the xDrive30 version.
The engine is of course replaced by a pair of electric motors and battery. It is badged 'xDrive30' and offers 313bhp - about the same as a modern day hot hatchback. 0 to 62mph takes 5.6 seconds, however, with over 500Nm of torque, it feels much faster. There is also a 204bhp version too, badged 'eDrive20', taking 8.6 seconds to go from 0 to 62mph.
Practicality and Running Costs
As an entry-level step into the BMW SUV range, the iX1 is pretty practical, with plenty of interior space to get comfortable fairly easily, along with a large boot which offers a capacious 490 litres.
It may be 50 litres less than a regular X1 (due to the electrical components in the floor) but still offers more than other electric SUVs, with the Mercedes EQA offering just 340 litres, whilst the popular Ford Mustang Mach-E offers 402 litres.
Running costs should be attractive for a car of this type, and we recommend using an official service centre, like any Stratstone BMW retailer, to ensure your used iX1 is kept in the best possible condition.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
The interior quality of the iX1 is excellent, and it does a fantastic job of giving a premium vibe to those who sit behind the wheel, and in the passenger seats.
There is a large digital infotainment screen, that is joined by another digital instrument cluster, which gives the interior a real modern feel, but unlike many 'iPad-like' screens nowadays it does not feel cheap, but instead feels premium, and is easy to use and navigate.
You can of course get your smartphone connected with ease, and there are plenty of BMW apps available to download and use, to make used BMW iX1 ownership more pleasant.
Being a modern BMW there is plenty of safety tech too, with a reversing camera, adaptive cruise control, cross-traffic warning, lane-change warning and plenty of other useful driver assistance packs available. When looking to buy used, just double check to ensure it has what you are after.
Is the BMW iX1 right for me?
The beauty with a used BMW iX1 is that if you like the car, but want it with an internal combustion engine, you can just opt for a used BMW X1, as they look almost identical, with the regular BMW X1 being a tad more practical.
However, if you like the idea of the all-electric BMW iX1, then it really is a more solid choice than most of its rivals, it also seems to be holding its value better too.
Alternatives include the less practical Mercedes EQA, or the larger Ford Mustang Mach-E, but the iX1 is more practical is arguably better looking and features a more premium overall package.
