Powered by a variety of powertrains to suit all lifestyles, the New Range Rover Sport made its debut by tackling a dam spillway ascent against a torrent of water flowing at 750 tonnes per minute, showcasing its dynamic capabilities in the most challenging of conditions.
Design and Practicality
With its muscular stance and sharp aesthetics, the latest generation of the New Range Rover Sport builds on its predecessors without casting its inherent DNA aside. Land Rover's new flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture, MLA-Flex, is adopted to provide the greatest in comfort and spirit, no matter the terrain you are tackling.
With an unrivalled cabin in terms of refinement, the New Range Rover Sport provides the highest level of personalisation, allowing for the cabin to be tailored to meet all preferences. A wider selection of high-quality, sustainable materials and leathers are available to ensure all moments are ones to savour.
Ready for the wildest of adventures, there will be few complaints from those onboard courtesy of a gracefully spacious cabin that provides satisfactory levels of head and legroom for all. 835 litres of boot space (or 1,860 litres with the rear seats folded flat) can be utilised to store luggage with ease.
Technology and Safety
Adopting the most innovative technology available, the New Range Rover Sport provides a variety of equipment to make the drive as dynamically engaging as desired.
The award-winning Pivi Pro infotainment system features a 13.1-inch haptic touchscreen that works in conjunction with a 13.7-inch interactive driver display to offer the most intuitive of experiences. Further features such as built-in Amazon Alexa voice control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging allow you to be at one with the car.
The New Range Rover Sport also offers the pinnacle of safety technology. ClearSight camera technology allows for uninterrupted visibility at all times. Technologies such as Blind Spot Assist, parking aids, and Driver Condition Response aid the driver when required.
Optimal ambience is maintained through deployment of Active Noise Cancellation, and a Meridian sound system with up to 29 speakers, while Advanced Cabin Air Purification Pro ensures only the cleanest of air enters the cabin.
Engines and Performance
The New Range Rover Sport offers the cleanest and most efficient powertrains available, including mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. All models come with all-wheel drive as standard.
There are two 3.0-litre mild hybrid diesel variants available, coming with either 296bhp or 345bhp. The advanced 48V mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) technology harvests energy which would normally be lost when slowing down and is redeployed to provide torque assistance during stop/start. Unlike the PHEV model, the mild hybrid engines do not need plugging-in to recharge.
In terms of petrol variants, you can opt for a 3.0-litre MHEV (P400) with 395bhp, or a traditional 4.4-litre unit (P530) that produces a staggering 523bhp and a 0 to 62mph time of circa 4.3 seconds.
Intelligent extended range plug-in hybrid variants are also available, combining a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor to achieve an all-electric driving range of up to 70 miles.
Land Rover also plan to add an all-electric Range Rover Sport to the family in 2024.
