Design and Practicality
MINI has redefined the brand's well-known go-kart feeling by installing the lithium-ion high-voltage battery into the floor of the new MINI Cooper Electric to give optimum road holding and weight distribution.
The new MINI Cooper Electric has also been made as flexible as possible, utilising the hallmark MINI space concept to allow the luggage compartment's volume to be expanded.

Technology and Safety
The interior of the new MINI Cooper Electric is treated to a whole variety of technology and features, including a central OLED display and MINI Interaction Unit instrument cluster, to offer a premium driving experience.
There are also handy features included as part of the MINI Operating System 9 including the brand's first voice assistant, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, that can be operated by saying “Hey MINI” or using the button on the steering wheel.
MINI Digital Key Plus also allows the driver to use their smartphone to unlock the vehicle, giving them easier control over their Cooper Electric.
Safety is also key in this model with plenty of advanced driver assistance systems in place as well as 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras to assist with manoeuvres. The MINI App also has a variety of safety functions included such as Remote 360, allowing you to view the surroundings of your parked car all from your phone.
Range and Performance
Focusing on electric driving fun, the new edition of the MINI Cooper Electric is available on two power levels, offering drivers the opportunity to experience thrillingly agile yet zero-emission driving.
Both the MINI Cooper E with an output of 135kW and the MINI Cooper SE with 160kW, offer full torque from the get-go. The lithium-ion high-voltage battery provides the power for the electric motor to accelerate without delay and without shift interruptions. The Cooper E has a battery capacity of 40.7kWh whilst the Cooper SE is a bit higher at 54.2kWh. These larger batteries provide a predicted range of around 180 to 250 miles, significantly extending the vehicle's capabilities for both urban and long-distance driving.
MINI have drawn on development expertise within the BMW Group to further improve the driving dynamics in the new MINI Cooper Electric.

Charging
Charging has never been easier and simpler than with the MINI Cooper Electric. The battery can be charged with an alternating current with 11kW or via fast charging direct current with 75kW for the new MINI Cooper E and up to 95kW for the new Cooper SE. This allows charging from 10 percent to 80 percent to take place in just under 30 minutes at a fast charging station.
You can also see really clear and easy instructions and overview on the progress of your vehicle's charging on the MINI App, even when you are not close to the vehicle. This makes charging on the go a lot easier and more convenient.
