What is Tyre Insurance Cover?

Tyre insurance cover is an insurance product that provides comprehensive cover against unexpected damage to your vehicle's tyres or valve that can easily be caused by high kerbs or potholes that are encountered during everyday driving.

Cost of materials and labour to repair, balance and re-fit a tyre

What are the benefits?

The main benefit is that you are covered against any unexpected accidental or malicious damage to your car's wheels and tyres which could otherwise result in a costly repair bill. Ensuring your wheels are kept in good condition can also protect the value of the vehicle.

Tyre repairs & replacements and alloy repairs are carried out via an established national repair network. You'll receive up to £200 contribution towards the cost of an alloy wheel repair or replacement if it’s not repairable using the approved repairer.

Is normal wear and tear covered?

No, only accidental damage is covered by the policy.

Are there any stipulations I need to know about?

Tyres need to be used at the correct pressure and have a minimum of the legal limit of tyre tread left on them. Incorrect wheel balancing and defective steering or suspension systems may invalidate your policy. Vehicles used for commercial purposes are not covered. Please see the policy document for more details.

What if my alloy wheels are stolen?

Alloy wheel theft is not covered by Tyre and Alloy Wheel Insurance and should be claimed for through your normal motor insurance. 

Is fire damage covered?

No, fire damage is not covered by Tyre and Alloy Wheel Insurance.
