Range Rover Sport
Starting off with one of the greatest off-road vehicles ever. But do not let the lower ride height and sportier looks fool you, the Range Rover Sport is a hugely capable vehicle off road, as well as superb on it, too.
What is more, you can find used examples with attractive savings when compared with brand-new models, along with both 5 and 7-seat configurations.
With 62mph coming up in around 5 seconds flat if you opt for the V8 petrol, this luxury 'family car' proves you don't have to sacrifice pace when you have a family, or style on that matter, as the Range Rover Sport is a superb looking SUV too.
An all-aluminium body keeps the weight down, whilst inside the Range Rover Sport offers luxury in textbook fashion. There is also a PHEV version for those who want to keep up to date with the latest electric automotive technology.Search Used Range Rover
The Mercedes-Benz GLS is one handsome yet imposing 7-seater SUV. As SUVs go, it certainly has an epic road presence, and where some vehicles swap boot space for an extra two seats, you simply do not have to worry with the GLS.
If the exterior carries an aire of presence, the interior will have occupants in awe of its state-of-the-art digital screens and design, it is definitely not lacking in the style and wow factor categories that is for sure.
Choose from a 3.0-litre diesel engine in Designo Line, AMG Line or Grand Edition specification, each providing just over 250bhp. Or why not add some AMG performance in your life and opt for the colossal 5.5-litre GLS 63 AMG version with 576bhp? This beast of a 7-seat SUV can hit 62mph in just 4.5 seconds.Search Used Mercedes-Benz GLS
Another 7-seater, another ultra-popular SUV. The BMW X5 is famed for its car-like handling and characteristics, making it one of the most popular luxury SUVs out there.
Offered with the standard 5-seats, you can also find an X5 with third row seating (7 seats). Engine choice is comprehensive, with engines ranging usually between 3.0 and 4.4 litres - offered in petrol and diesel fuel choices.
The X5 is not a slow SUV either, with exciting performance, enough to complete the 0 to 62mph sprint in less than 6 seconds, or under 5 seconds with the larger 4.4-litre engine.
Interior quality is excellent, as with every BMW, whilst exterior styling is handsome and like the others mentioned previous, the X5 is another 7-seater that emits a respecting road presence.
The Audi Q7 is similar to the BMW X5 in the fact that you can pick up versions with either 5 or 7 seats. Styling is again similar to those mentioned, with a demanding road presence, fine styling and impressive interior quality.
Later models come in a powerful diesel offering, with engines coming in either 3.0 or 4.0-litre sizes, offering power of up to 428bhp - mimicking the BMW and Mercedes-Benz for pace.
Older models still look modern, whereas the newer models really excel with interior quality and style - thanks to Audi's stunning virtual cockpit.Search Used Audi Q7
Volvo is a car manufacturer that has its stereotypical cliches, just like any other car. Sure they may have been a little boxy back in the day, but they were also incredibly tough and reliable.
However, take a look at the current Volvo range and each car offers fine styling and quality that can easily give the typical fan of German manufacturers something to think about. Volvo are making some seriously good looking cars, proving stereotypes are not always the reality.
The XC90 is a fine 7-seater with ultra attractive exterior styling and quality interior refinement. Interestingly, the 2.0-litre engine is the engine used for the XC90 - which seems small in comparison, against others in our list. However, performance is great with between 231 and 401bhp, providing plenty of economy - almost 50mpg in the diesel, 30mpg in the petrol and over 80mpg in the hybrid version.
