The BMW i range offers all-electric models as well as plug-in hybrids. With seven models in BMW's plug-in hybrid range there is a car to suit every driver.
The BMW i range includes the all-electric BMW i3 and i3s as well as the plug-in hybrids BMW i8 Coupé and BMW i8 Roadster.
BMW i3 All-Electric
The BMW i3 and BMW i3s are powered by an enhanced 120Ah high-voltage battery. Not only do they produce zero driving emissions, they have a range of up to 160 miles.
Both models were designed with sustainability in mind; they are up to 85% recyclable and natural materials are used to build the cars.
The BMW i3s features sporty extras and it can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 6.9 seconds.
BMW i Plug-in Hybrid
Being the first sports car with the consumption and emission values of a compact car the BMW i8 is truly revolutionary. Both the BMW i8 Coupé and Roadster are plug-in hybrids.
The award winning BMW i8 Coupé accelerates from 0 to 62mph in just 4.4 seconds and, along with the BMW i8 Roadster, can achieve minimum consumption whilst maintaining maximum performance by coordinating the interaction between the electric motor and the turbocharged three-cylinder engine.

On short trips, the BMW plug-in hybrid models are powered completely by their electric engines; on longer trips, above 30 miles, fuel consumption varies depending on model type and total distance travelled.
BMW i Remote App
BMW have launched the BMW i Remote app which provides an extension to the BMW i3 and i8 on IOS and Android smartphones to deliver a fully networked driving experience.
The app allows the user to see the battery charge status of the vehicle as well as the available vehicle range. Additionally, it enables the user to start or stop charging, locate charging stations, check on vehicle condition and servicing requirements as well as lock or unlock the car. The Dynamic Range Map can be used to check if the car has enough battery charge to make it to the destination, this map can be accessed via the BMW i Remote app.
