This means the 0 to 62mph time drops from 8.2 seconds in the Cooper to 6.9 seconds in the Cooper S. The John Cooper Works drops it further still to 6.4 seconds.

Running costs mirror the Hatchback MINI, with more budget needed for Cooper S and John Cooper Works models, due to their higher performance.

As for practicality, the MINI Cooper Convertible offers four seats, and two doors as standard, as do the Cooper S and John Cooper Works. All three offer a 215-litre boot space.
