Why buy an Approved Used Mercedes-Benz CLA?
The CLA is based on another popular Mercedes-Benz model, in the form of the A-Class, a model responsible for bringing new customers to the brand as a more affordable and entry-level point into the Mercedes-Benz range.
First offered in 2013, this second-generation model was followed in 2019, offering buyers the body styles of a four-door coupé or handsome shooting brake (estate).
Engines consist of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) offerings. Petrol consists of 1.3-litre (134bhp and 161bhp) and 2.0-litre options (221bhp), with an economy of up to 46mpg, with the diesel alternative being a 2.0-litre unit (187bhp) and offering up to 57mpg. The PHEV uses the petrol's 1.3-litre unit (215bhp), returning a hugely impressive 235mpg.
For those wanting more performance from their CLA, the AMG version enhances performance significantly, with 415bhp on offer from its 2.0-litre petrol engine, offering a 0 to 62mph time of just 4.1 seconds.
Running costs will therefore vary on model, but the CLA is practical either way with a 460-litre boot in the Saloon or 505-litres in the Shooting Brake.
If you like the idea of the compact A-Class but could do with a bit more practicality, and like a more coupé-like, or shooting-brake bodystyle, then the CLA could fit the bill perfectly.
No, as the CLA is based on the smaller A-Class, the C-Class is bigger in terms of size and interior space, although the boot sizes are marginally larger in the CLA.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA has competitors in the form of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé and Audi A3 Saloon.
The regular versions of the Mercedes-Benz CLA are not really fast, but if you choose the AMG version, it is a different story with 0 to 62mph happening in just over 4 seconds, whilst regular models take between 7 and 9 seconds.
