Discover an approved used CLE through Stratstone

The Mercedes-Benz CLE replaced the C-Class Coupé and E-Class Coupé, in a restructure of its model range.

It came along in late 2023 and is one of Mercedes-Benz's few coupé models it now offers, as buyer habits continue to change.

Engines and Driving Experience

When looking for a used Mercedes-Benz CLE, you can find a variety of versions consisting of the CLE 200, CLE 300, CLE 220d, CLE 450 and finally, the range-topping CLE 53 4MATIC+ AMG.

The CLE 200 and CLE 300 use a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 201bhp or 254bhp respectively. C220d uses a 2.0-litre diesel which produces 194bhp. 0 to 62mph takes just over 7 seconds for the CLE 200 and C220d, whilst the CLE 300 takes just 6.2 seconds.

For those wanting the most from a used CLE, the CLE 450 and AMG version use a larger 3.0-litre petrol engine, with 375bhp and 436bhp respectively. 0 to 62mph takes 4.4 seconds in the 450 and 4.2 seconds in the AMG.

All drive like you would expect a Mercedes-Benz to, although the Mercedes-AMG version will provide a more driver-focused package, whilst the others will simply provide a more comforting experience. The Cabriolet model will naturally give a more open-air experience, if that is more your thing.

Practicality and Running Costs

Despite being a coupé, the Mercedes-Benz CLE has decent interior space and a large boot.

Boot space is decent on the Coupé, with 420 litres on offer, which will swallow two large suitcases or similar with ease. The Cabriolet version offers a respectable 380 litres with the roof up, or 295 litres with the roof down.

Running costs are as expected with a car of this calibre. The diesel engine will of course be more economical, with 60mpg possible, but like most executive cars of this ilk, tyres and consumables will be on the more expensive side.
